For the next six sessions your child will be "dwelling" in the stories of Jesus' birth and those of the people who met him. After hearing the story in each session, we'll be pausing to imagine it more deeply and retell it together. For the first two stories your child will be bringing home his or her own story scene to use for retelling it to you! You might like to follow up each story with one of the six responses on the God's Big Story card that connects to it. (To find the story card, use the symbol on your child's Show and Share paper. Need a set of God’s Big Story cards? They can be purchased from FaithAliveResources.org.)
We'll also be worshipping Jesus each week with songs and prayers. You can do that at home too, using the same songs we'll be learning— "Tell It" and our Scripture song for this unit, "John 3:16." You can purchase a copy of the DwellSongs 1 CD or download the songs on the Leader Support page of DwellCurriculum.org.
Please pray with me that the Holy Spirit will use the Dwell materials, along with our own leading (yours and mine) and our own examples of faith to guide your child—and each little one in my group—into a life of faith.
