We’re about to begin another Imagine unit, and I wanted to let you know all about it. For the next six sessions we’ll be telling stories about Jesus. The children will begin to sense God’s care for people as they see Jesus feeding a hungry crowd, calming a wild storm, healing a young boy, comforting grieving friends, gathering kids around him to bless them, and caring for his precious lambs as our good shepherd. As I tell each story, I hope to share in a simple way the security that comes from knowing that God loves us immensely and cares for us in countless ways!
We’ll be learning two songs together. “Be Still and Know” is our Scripture song, and it will help us learn the Memory Challenge for this unit, Psalm 46:10a.“One, Two, Three, Jesus Loves Me” is a fun counting and rhyming song with an important message. Both songs are found on the Dwellsongs 2 CD and in a downloadable format on the Leader Support page at DwellCurriculum.org. Ask your child to help you learn them!
You’ll also want to use the weekly Show and Share paper to retell the story with your child. Encourage your child to match the story symbol on the paper with the same symbol from the God’s Big Story card box (available for purchase at FaithAliveResources.org). You can use the simple Show and Share versions of the stories for your God’s Big Story card readings.
I’m looking forward to growing in faith with your child as we learn more about our loving God together!
