Dear Family Text

Just a note to keep you up to date on what’s happening in your child’s Dwell group. For the next several sessions our theme is “Imagine . . . God’s Incredible Rescue Plan.” We’ll be looking at how Noah, Rahab, and Gideon are all part of God’s Big Story. And we’ll be reminded that we are part of God’s Big Story too!

Our Memory Challenge for this unit is found in John 14:15. Your child will be bringing home a picture to color with the text printed on it—hang it in a place that you’ll see often and try to learn it together. To help your child remember the words, we’re learning a Scripture song called “Jesus Said.” It’s available on the DwellSongs 1 CD (FaithAliveResources.org) or for download on the leader support page of DwellCurriculum.org.

Children (and adults!) are more likely to remember what they’ve learned if they repeat or use the knowledge after learning it. Using the God’s Big Story cards that match the stories we’re learning together at church is an excellent way to continue the learning together at home. If you need a set of God’s Big Story cards they can be ordered from FaithAliveResources.org.

Please pray with me that that Holy Spirit will use the Dwell materials, along with our own leading (yours and mine) and our own examples of faith to guide your child—and each little one in the group—into a life of faith!
