Dear Family Text

Just a note to let you know what we’ll be doing for the next six sessions in your child’s Dwell group. We’re beginning a new unit called “Imagine . . . Seeing God’s Power.” Each week we’ll hear the stories of people who experienced God’s power up close as they obeyed—or disobeyed—God’s commands. The stories of Elijah; Naaman; Jonah; Shadrach, Meshach, and Abdnego; and Daniel are always exciting for kids, and we’re looking forward to experiencing them together!

Our Memory Challenge for this unit is Psalm 121:1-2. Your child will be bringing home a poster version of this text (hang it where you’ll see it every day!) and we’ll also be learning the words together by singing them with the song “I Lift My Eyes.” If you’d like to purchase a download of the song or the DwellSongs CD, visit the Leader Support page at DwellCurriculum.org.

A great way to connect what we’re learning to your conversations at home is through a God’s Big Story cards set (available for purchase at FaithAliveResources.org). We use wondering questions (just like the “Wonder” activity on the cards) a lot in your child’s group to help us dwell into the story together; we hope they will also be a great way for you and your child to live into God’s story.

As always, we’re thankful for your prayers. It’s our prayer that the Holy Spirit will use the Dwell curriculum materials as well as our leading at church and yours at home to guide your child into a life of faith.
