We’re beginning a new series of stories with the theme Imagine . . . Seeing Jesus Do Great Things. We’ll be learning about Jesus’ ministry on earth as he called Matthew to follow him, showed great compassion by healing 10 men with leprosy, raising a widow’s son from death, and giving sight to a man who couldn’t see, and was honored by Mary. Of course, we’ll also be celebrating his birth with a story from Luke 2:1-20.
As always, each story we tell has its own story symbol. You’ll find the story symbol in the top right corner of your child’s Show and Share paper each week. Each symbol is also on a card in your God’s Big Story cards so that you can continue the learning at home during family devotions. You can read the story from Scripture or use the version printed on your child’s Show and Share paper. (Need a set of God’s Big Story cards? They can be purchased from FaithAliveResources.org.)
During this unit we’ll also be learning a verse from 1 John 4:19 together. To help us remember the words we’ll be singing it to a song called “Because He First Loved Us” and using some sign language. If you’d like to sing this song at home, you purchase a copy of the DwellSongs 2 CD or download just this song on the Leader Support page of DwellCurriculum.org. Use the music to learn the song together and ask your child teach you the sign language!
Thanks for your continued prayers.
