Pass It On
Here are some ideas for how you might engage your young teen in a faith discussion:

  • Ask your young teen to tell you about what “you did it for me” means. Brainstorm some ways you might live that out as a family (Session 1).
  • Get out some pictures of loved ones who have died. Tell stories about them and talk about how you long to see them again. Share some of your ideas about what heaven and God’s new creation will be like (Session 2).
  • Talk to your young teen about how the Holy Spirit worked in your heart to give you faith in Jesus (Session 3).
  • Share some ways that you use your spiritual gifts to serve the church or larger community. Identify a gift or talent in your son or daughter and help him or her think of ways to serve God and others with that gift or talent (Session 4).
  • Have you ever felt the Spirit guiding you? If so, tell your child about that experience (Session 5).
