Dear Family Text
Just a note to welcome you and your child as we begin a new education year. We’re looking forward to learning more about God’s story and growing in faith together!
This year your child will be learning from the Imagine level of the Dwell curriculum. Each week we’ll begin our time together with prayer, praise, and a look at the new story symbol for that day. (You’ll find the same story symbol in your set of God’s Big Story cards. Use them to continue the learning at home!) The stories are presented in a way that encourages kids to respond to God (Jesus) with love, wonder, trust, obedience, and praise. We also encourage kids to live out what they’ve learned by sharing God’s story with others.
Every six weeks we’ll also be memorizing a different passage of Scripture together. To help kids learn the passage we won’t just be saying the words but will be singing them too! If you’d like to purchase the Scripture songs we’re using in class, visit the Leader Support page on DwellCurriculum.org where you can order the DwellSongs Year 2 CD or download individual songs.
Each week your child will be bringing home a Show and Share paper containing a version of the story, a note to you, the memory challenge, and other activities. You can use the paper to read the story that matches the story symbol card in your God’s Big Story cards. Invite your child to “show and share” what he or she has been learning!
