Pass It On
Here are some ideas for how you might engage your son or daughter in a faith discussion during the next six weeks:

  • Session 1: Talk about the “why” behind the rules in your household and what they have in common with the Ten Commandments.
  • Session 2: Talk together about some of the idols you see in today’s culture—things that people put more importance on than they deserve.
  • Session 3: Talk to your young teen about a time when you had to trust God through a challenging or frightening situation. Express what you learned from that situation.
  • Session 4: Talk about what it means to speak God’s name reverently and praise God in everything we do and say. Talk about how you honor God’s name in your family.
  • Session 5: If you grew up in a Christian home, describe what Sundays were like when you were your son or daughter’s age. Talk together as a family about how you’d like Sundays to be and plan something to do together next Sunday that would be enjoyable, restful, and different from the other days of the week.
